Did you enjoy last years Cedar Point Brew & BBQ event? Not only did we see an array of specialty food items debuted inside the new Lakeside Pavilion facility, but we also witnessed the world premier of the Brew Kettle Rougabrew beer.
Details are now available for the 2016 Cedar Point Brew & BBQ, so lets take a look at the new offerings.
Brew & BBQ will take place Friday, May 27 – Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 5:00 pm until park close. The great news for those looking to experience the event with less crowds, is it will take place every night and not just weekends.
The Cedar Point Brew & BBQ will feature over 55 breweries from across the country with 160 different offerings. The Brew Kettle will introduce the new Cedar Point signature beer promoting Valravn, as well as returning favorite, Rougabrew, and the three signature Halloweekends beers. A complete list of brewers is below.
This years menu will be more focused on regional BBQ than last year.
Taste of Carolina
Pulled pork sliders and Southern slaw
Pulled chicken with candied jalapenos
Texas BBQ
Sliced brisket on Texas toast with rich & sassy barbeque sauce
Barbeque carnitas nachos with creamy cheddar, black beans, pickled jalapenos and sour cream
Memphis BBQ
A barbeque pork shoulder sandwich with coleslaw and smoky barbeque sauce
Smoked sausage
Kansas City BBQ
Smokehouse ribs with a wet or dry rub.
Tickets are substantially more this year with a higher price point. There is also a caveat on the tickets they give you, but if they worked like last year, it can still be valuable, read on.
Advance ticket sales are $20, with tickets costing $30 at the event. Admission to the park is additional.
You will receive 10 beverage sampling tickets and 5 food sampling tickets. Redemptions work as follows:
– One beverage ticket = One sample of beer or one 12oz Coca-Cola fountain beverage
– Three beverage tickets = One 12oz beer
– One food ticket = One sample of food
– Three food tickets = Full plate of food
However, here is the way we hope it works again this year. Last year guests received 15 total tickets and they were NOT marked as only valid for food OR beverages. So you had the choice of whether to use all 15 tickets towards food, all 15 towards beverages, or a combination.
Considering your 15 tickets could potentially get you 5 FULL MEALS, this is an AMAZING bargain considering it only costs $20 per person. Do keep in mind though that if you plan on taking your family into the event, each adult was required to have a ticket last year.
The difference this year is Brew & BBQ is supposed to be held on the Frontier Trail. Therefore, without controlled access into the area, it may be easier for a family to share in the cost of a ticket this year.
Brew & BBQ will also test out a new VIP Beer Pairings where guests can learn from the experts on how beer can complement food when paired properly. The VIP Beer Pairings are at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on May 28 & May 29 and June 10 & 11 only. Tickets cost $20 and you must be 21 or over. Space is limited. Requires admission to Brew and BBQ to purchase. Times subject to change.

My Husband & Son-Law had a wonderful time last night with the Brew Fest. The beer was good and the food choice was a wise choice. I hope they continue this. Thank you
