2014 CEDAR POINT MEDIA DAY – On Thursday, May 8, 2014, Cedar Point opened its doors for media day to celebrate the new Gemini Midway, and in particular, the two new rides, Pipe Scream and Lake Erie Eagles. This year also includes several great additions to the food lineup at the park including Chickie’s & Pete’s, a new Starbucks location, and additional Yogurt Plus and Coca-Cola Freestyle locations. So lets take a quick recap of what was including for media day.

Going into the park for the first time since last year, our family was a little unsure what to expect. We went in with the assumption that we would only be seeing the new rides and sampling some of the new foods in that area. However, we were delighted to learn upon entering the gates that we had full reign of the park. In addition, there were select dining locations around the park that guests could sample the food and drink.

From 3-8:00 PM, guests could enjoy both fresh-cut fries and the new Chickie’s & Pete’s crabfries at the Happy Friar. The new Gemini Midway Coca-Cola Freestyle Cafe and Yogurt Plus locations were also open for guests to enjoy.

From 6-8:00 PM, guests could enjoy the new Starbucks, Chickie’s & Pete’s, Pink’s, Lakeside Express, Coasters Drive-In, and Midway Market.

In talking with guests, the new Chickie’s & Pete’s crabfries were a huge success. Crinkle cut fries lightly season in their signature rub, and a side of cheese sauce. No crabs were harmed in the making of the fries!

While our family was able to attend each of the locations, it was far to much food to sample in a limited time. However, we captured tons of great footage, so keep an eye on the specific pages of each dining location for updates on what to expect this season.
