2018 is going to be an exciting year for Canada’s Wonderland amusement park located just north of Toronto in Vaughn, Canada.
When our family first started visiting Canada’s Wonderland back in 2015, we walked away with several major surprises.
1) Canada’s Wonderland has one of the best collection of flat rides of any amusement park we have ever visited!
2) The food at Canada’s Wonderland is outstanding, with the food and beverage team creating some incredible options, with most on the dining plans, that you will not find at any other amusement parks!
3) The roller coaster collection is not only FUN, but has some unique offerings like the virtual reality Thunder Run, Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, and packs both a hyper coaster (Behemoth) and giga-coaster (Leviathan).
2018 Canada’s Wonderland Ride and Expanded Splash Area Improvements
For 2018, Canada’s Wonderland will add two new unique flat rides to their impressive collection, Lumberjack and Flying Canoes.
“Lumberjack will take guests for a thrilling ride on two swinging axe pendulums, propelling them into the sky with their feet dangling through 360 degree loops. With inversions reaching up to 75 feet (22m) high, Lumberjack will give riders the sensation of an inverted coaster loop!”
“Flying Canoes is an interactive family ride that will allow riders to control their journey of flight in two-person canoes.”
“In addition to Lumberjack and Flying Canoes, Splash Island’s children’s pool in Splash Works will transformed into Lakeside Lagoon! It will be double its size and will feature all-new interactive spray features that everyone will enjoy.”
2018 Canada’s Wonderland Food Improvements
Guests will see the Action Zone Hot Potato stands and Bistro 81 food truck at Canada’s Wonderland replaced with 2 new Poutinerie stands: Action Zone Poutinerie and Apres Poutinerie.
Planning for the menu at the new Poutinerie locations began in October 2017, when an internal competition was held among various dining locations at Canada’s Wonderland to create a new poutine flavor to be rolled out to park guests in 2018.
Six variations were submitted for the competition.
The judging was done by the Canada’s Wonderland Director of Food & Beverage, the Corporate Chef, as well a few other park Directors.
The winning Poutine, The Kicker, was created by the Cornerstone Restaurant team, which is the associate cafeteria team.
The Kicker consists of fries, diced chicken, BBQ sauce, Chipotle Baja sauce, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, mozzarella shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, green onions, and nacho cheese sauce.
In addition to “The Kicker”, the Poutinerie locations will also offer signature Butter Chicken Poutine and Peameal Bacon Poutine.
While the Poutinerie locations will not be included on the 2018 Canada’s Wonderland dining plans, you will certainly see us grabbing one or two, sitting back in the grass field adjacent to Wonderland Mountain, and enjoying the view…
