If you visited Carowinds amusement park in the past year, chances are it was because of the draw associated with Fury 325, the worlds tallest roller coaster, among other record setting achievements. The park not only celebrated the birth of a monster, but also rolled out some signature menu items for guests to enjoy with the same Fury theme.
One item that had eluded us for quite some time for the Jukebox Diner Fury Burger, located right outside the entrance to the namesake roller coaster. That is until now.
The fresh, not frozen thick cut burger is grilled, then topped with two pieces of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a signature poblano cheese sauce and jalapeno pickles. The burger is also served with your choice of sides.
We opted for the fresh baked macaroni and cheese as our side, which was good. The burger is served on a really nice brioche bun with a firm and slightly chewy texture that really holds the sandwich together nicely. Even after eating the meal, we went back and told the Jukebox team how the bun really helped make the sandwich perfect. With such a hefty burger, you really need a substantial bun to hold it all together.
The Fury burger also was served with nice, fresh vegetables. The only drawback during our visit was the poblano cheese sauce was not in stock. Without the sauce, there really was not much heat to the burger which we greatly looked forward to given our affection towards REALLY spicy.
The Carowinds Fury Burger was really a great burger with fresh ingredients and an overall well executed sandwich. Bring on the little bit of extra heat from the poblano cheese sauce, and the burger really lives up to it’s Fury inspiration.
The Carowinds Fury Burger is included on the dining plans, making it all the more appealing.
