One of the most exciting dining improvements for the 2017 Carowinds season was the transformation of the Carowinds Cafe to the Burrito Cafe. Besides quesadillas inside Harmony Hall, there were no traditional Mexican style food offerings.
Like everything at Carowinds, the new quick service burrito style restaurant offered loads of fresh cut veggies, homemade salsas, and premium meat options.
The Carowinds Burrito Cafe allows guests to choose from a traditional bowl, burrito, or salad. Then you choose your beans, meat and veggies to create your own custom meal. Each meal is served with a side of chips and salsa.
We have tried the Burrito Cafe on a number of visits to Carowinds, and the experience is always phenomenal. The quality of ingredients is also superb and lots of flavor!
While we have grown tired of some of the more traditional chain style burrito locations around the country, Burrito Cafe is always a favorite. Plus, it is a great option for those with the Carowinds dining plans!
If you tried Burrito Cafe, please leave your feedback below in the comments.

This is quite possibly the most horrible tasteless imitation of Mexican food I’ve ever encountered. I considered asking for my money back but decided not to cause a scene. Please go try it for yourself. Especially the Queso … OMG. Even the tortilla chips were terrible. Not really sure how you mess those up.
As far as a lot of food for the money, I think the Burrito Bowl is a pretty great value. Typically, when visiting a location like this — guacamole and queso are extra — they’re included with the price here. Sure, it might not be the most “authentic” Mexican Food — but the Burrito Bowl remains one of my favorite items at Carowinds!
