When it comes to eating at any of the Cedar Fair parks, we want to eat the type of food we can not typically get outside the park. That is why funnel cakes are so popular. The guests want to eat something that is good, but also something they may not typically find at a restaurant.
However, when traveling with kids, sometimes one needs to rely on the old essentials. The basics. That is why there will always be a place in amusement parks for chicken tenders, burgers, and pizza.
One dish we do not see very often is pasta dishes. Quiet possibly one of the easiest, and often least expensive meal options is some noodles with sauce. It is so easy, one often has to work really hard to mess it up.
So we elected to order on the dining plans the Canada’s Wonderland Backlot Cafe spaghetti with meatballs.
The order is served with a large helping of noodles, sauce, and meatballs.
We happen to order our meal right when the restaurant opened. Truth be told, we wanted to order the lasagna meal, but it was not ready at the time. So we went with the spaghetti instead.
Sadly, the meal fell flat. The noodles were overly cooked. The sauce was decent but could have used more of it (we even requested extra since the first scoop was so small). Worse was the meatballs were still cold in the center.
A meal that should have been so simple to prepare really fell short. Maybe it was because it was first thing in the morning and our experience is not typical. However, we learned our lesson to stick with the many other great alternatives at the Backlot Cafe like the fresh tacos or Butter Chicken.

Hey I’m a Wonderland employee that works at the Backlot Cafe restaurant. You should try our pasta again this year to see if anything has changed and to sample our new Greek station. Thanks and have a good day!
