YOGURT PLUS TIPS – The health benefits of frozen yogurt and fresh fruit is undeniably great, especially on a hot day of walking around Cedar Point. Yogurt Plus, which has two locations throughout the park, offers guests 8 flavors of yogurt (plus you can twist flavors in the same machine) to satisfy your sweet tooth, along with tons of toppings to suit everyone from the healthy to the sugar craving. The cost is a flat $0.85/ounce, regardless of what you place in your cup.
Most flavors are nonfat with the exception of Cake Batter flavor, which is low fat. Depending on guests allergens, review the placards above each machine to determine which flavors may be acceptable for you. Flavors are clearly marked with their appropriate allergen containing materials.
So in addition to Yogurt Plus being one of the healthier snacks available in the park, it can also be one of the most economical provided you do not go overboard on loading up your cup. Which got us at the CPFB to thinking, just how much does an empty Yogurt Plus bowl cost?
A standard Yogurt Plus bowl at Cedar Point holds 16 ounces.
We ran an experiment and determined that an empty Yogurt Plus bowl weighs in at 0.5 ounces. Therefore $0.43 goes to cover the cost of the bowl. Keep that in mind when filling your cup to avoid going overboard.
So how can you enjoy frozen yogurt without compromising your wallet? Try these tips:
- Only fill the bowl about half way with frozen yogurt, and go light on the toppings.
- Start by filling the container with fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries).
- Add yogurt to the already fruit filled bowl. You will be surprised how much less yogurt you will take when the container is already stuffed with fruit.
- Go easy on the toppings.
